Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's aptitude for sports was evident as early as the day she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. After only 10 weeks after her first attempt, Felix finished second in the 200 meter race on the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix got a contract to pursue a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. The following year, Felix won her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by doing 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. As of 2005, she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 by defeating her long-time Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a participant in her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her races.
